Crafting Your Mazda CX-5 Performance
You have the opportunity to customize the performance of your Mazda CX-5 by choosing a powertrain that meets your automotive needs.
The base engine is a highly capable 2.5L 4-cylinder that churns out 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. With a maximum EPA-estimated fuel economy of 25 city MPG/31 highway MPG, this option is a good choice for daily commuters.1
The other option is the 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine, which generates 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The enhanced speed and power are enthralling. Plus, you’ll still receive an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 city MPG/27 highway MPG.1
As for the drivetrain, you can select either front-wheel drive or the i-ACTIV AWD® system.
Loads of Driver-Assistance Technology
With Mazda continuing to be a leader when it comes to driver-assistance features, it’s no great surprise to see the Mazda CX-5 equipped with cutting-edge safety systems.
To stabilize all your drives, the Mazda CX-5 comes with the Anti-Lock Brake System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. However, that’s just the beginning. In addition to Dynamic Stability Control and the Traction Control System, the Mazda CX-5 also includes:
- 360° View Monitor
- Hill Launch Assist
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go
- Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection
Interior Proportions of the Mazda CX-5
The headroom is a good place to start. Thanks to a well-positioned roofline, front headroom checks in at 39.3 inches, while rear headroom comes to 39 inches. You’ll also find that legroom is generous as well, with 41 inches up front and 39.6 inches in back. As for hip room, the front row has 55.2 inches, while the rear row has 55.3 inches.
When it comes to cargo space, there’s 30.9 cubic feet behind the rear row. Fold that second row down, however, and the cargo space increases to up to 59.6 cubic feet.
