Mazda models have a strong record of reliability, making them appealing to folks throughout Gastonia, Charlotte, and Lincolnton, North Carolina. If you’re driving a Mazda CX-5, for example, you can expect many years of high-end performance and reliability. There’s still an important part to play as the owner, though, which is what our Mazda CX-5 maintenance guide is all about. By following the mileage intervals that Mazda recommends, your SUV will perform to the best of its abilities for well over 100,000 miles.

At Mazda of Gastonia, we’re happy to answer any maintenance questions you have while also servicing your Mazda CX-5 when needed!

Automotive Maintenance Center

Every 7,500 Miles

The mileage intervals we’ll be laying out will vary depending on what your Mazda CX-5 is exposed to. For instance, severe heat and cold, or daily driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic, can wear down your SUV more quickly, requiring more frequent visits. In all, though, following these guidelines will provide your SUV with everything it needs to live a long and healthy life.

Every 7,500 miles you’ll want to pop into the shop for a quick inspection and a round of routine care. Here are the procedures you can expect at this stage:

  • Oil change
  • Tire rotation
  • Inspection of suspension, ball joints, wheel bearing axles
  • Tightening of bolts and nuts on chassis and body

Every 15,000 Miles

At 15,000 miles, another quick checkup on parts, such as the steering operation and the linkages, is needed. Also, the cabin air filter will be swapped out to ensure there’s no unnecessary buildup of dirt and debris.

Air Filter Replacement

Every 25,000 Miles

As you put more and more miles onto your Mazda CX-5, a new range of inspections and eventually some part replacements will be needed. Here’s a feel for what your SUV will undergo when you bring it into the shop every 25,000 miles:

  • Air filter replacement
  • Drive belt inspection
  • Disc brakes inspection

You may also find the brake pads and rotors need to be replaced. However, these procedures are again dependent on variables such as your own personal driving habits, the weather your model is subjected to, and the type of driving you do each day. When coming to our shop, our certified technicians will let you know if the brake pads and rotors need to be swapped out now or if they can wait until another visit.

Replacing Spark Plugs

Every 75,000 Miles

By keeping up with the former mileage intervals, your Mazda CX-5 should be performing smoothly even as you approach 75,000 miles. At this point, a replacement of the spark plugs is about the only new service that your SUV will require to continue running at the level you’ve grown accustomed to.
