Are you looking for a compact SUV for your daily drives around Gastonia, Charlotte, and Lincolnton, NC? Would you like to make stops for gas a thing of the past? You can have the best of both worlds in the all-electric Mazda MX-30. But, which of its two available trim levels is the right one for you?

To help you decide, our team at Mazda of Gastonia has looked at each trim and broken down their similarities and differences. Keep reading below to find out which one fits your style best.

Trim Levels

On the Mazda MX-30, you’ll have a choice of either the base Mazda MX-30 trim level, or the Premium Plus trim level. While there are a few differences between the two trim levels, there’s also a lot they have in common. Let’s take a look.

What’s the Same?

All-Electric Performance

Both trim levels make use of the AC Synchronous e-Skyactiv® electric motor to provide an all-electric performance. Combined with a Lithium-ion battery, you’ll be able to take advantage of a 100-mile driving range on a full charge, as well as an EPA-estimated 98 city/85 highway/92 combined MPGe.1 2

Electric G-Vectoring Control Plus is also standard on both the Base and Premium Plus trim levels. This helps to deliver a natural and responsive driving feel with an electric motor, as well as issuing audio feedback in sync with your motor torque to help keep you in tune with your Mazda.

Elegant Interior

Inside, both trim levels feature leatherette-trimmed seats and room for up to five passengers. You’ll also enjoy an 8-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support and 2-position memory, as well as heated front seats.

Both trim levels also feature a 7-inch LCD Meter Display, which allows you to view important information like trip odometers, trip computer, and fuel economy. A windshield-project full-color Active-Driving Display makes for an even easier way to keep track of your Mazda’s information.

Constant Connection

An 8.8-inch center display is standard on both trim levels, which gives access to a number of infotainment features to help keep you connected while you drive. These include:

  • Voice commands
  • Multifunction Commander control
  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Autoâ„¢
  • Bluetooth® hands-free phone and audio streaming capability
  • Mazda Connected Services with 3-year trial

Prioritized Protection

Making sure you feel secure and confident behind the wheel is an important part of the Mazda MX-30 design. For this reason, both trim levels come equipped with i-Activesense® Safety Technology. This suite of safety and driver-assist features includes:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Lane Departure Warning with Lane-keep Assist
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go
  • Driver Attention Alert
  • Smart Brake Support

What’s Different?

While the Mazda MX-30 base trim level comes jam-packed with plenty of features, the Premium Plus trim level does add or upgrade a few. Starting with the exterior, while both trims are available in Jet Black Mica, Ceramic Metallic, and Polymetal Grey Metallic, the Premium Plus trim adds two more dashing options: Machine Grey Metallic and Soul Red Crystal Metallic.

There’s also a few more options offered inside the Premium Plus trim. A heated steering wheel is added, as well as a Bose® 12-speaker premium audio system with Centerpoint® 2 and AudioPilot®, upgrading the base trim level’s 8-speaker system.

Technology also gets a bump on the Premium Plus trim, including a Rear View Monitor with dynamic lines and a 360-degree view monitor to help you keep track of your surroundings. Additional assistance features are also added, including:

  • Front Cross Traffic Alert
  • Blind Spot Assist
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Driver Monitoring Camera
