MAZDA3 MPG Performance

MPG Differences in the 2021 MAZDA3

Engine options in the 2021 Mazda3 include the base Skyactiv®-G 2.0L motor, the available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L engine, and the Skyactiv®-G 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine. The engine you select is going to play a role in the MPG rating of your car as will your choice of either front-wheel drive (FWD) or available i-Activ AWD®.

With the standard Skyactiv®-G 2.0L engine and FWD, the Mazda3 is going to reach an EPA-estimated 28 city/36 highway MPG.1 The available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L receives an EPA-estimated 26 city/35 highway MPG with the FWD system.1

The available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo motor sees a slight downtick in fuel economy since the turbo infusion increases the engine’s power. With this optional engine, you can expect an EPA-estimated 23 city/32 highway MPG.1 Still a great rating for such awesome power!

MAZDA3 Horsepower

Horsepower Differences in the MAZDA3

While there’s a modest gap in the MPG rating of the 2021 Mazda3 depending on the engine you select, there’s a larger gap in horsepower and torque when moving from one motor to the next. This is stellar news for those that want to pair strong efficiency with high-end power.

The base Skyactiv®-G 2.0L engine provides 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, while the available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L motor produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.

The available Skyactiv®-G 2.5L Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine actually has two outputs, depending on the gas you feed it. If you choose 87 octane regular unleaded fuel, this sedan will generate 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. If you choose to feed your Mazda3 93 octane premium unleaded fuel, you’ll unleash the fullest power of this car: 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.
